CDM Principal Designers The latest Construction Design & Management Regulations 2015 extend the reach of the original Regulations so that they now apply to domestic contractors as well as those larger ones which have always had to comply. The new role of Principal Designer replaces the existing CDM Co-ordinator and is expected to be appointed by the client. The idea is to bring Risk Management into the design process from the beginning and to see it through to the end, including eventual demolition when necessary. There are other pressures, too. Like appointing a Principal Contractor who has a wide range of duties to perform, not least being competent in health and safety and having to prepare a health and safety file at the end of the project. And F10 notification criteria have been changed to bring smaller projects in – again putting demands on contractors. Spectra provide a wealth of knowledge and expertise of Construction Design and Management Regulations. Our Principal Designers come from a construction background providing experience from small niche projects up to large projects in excess of £500million. In addition, all our Principal Designers are registered members of the Association of Project Safety and Chartered Members of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.   Spectra CDM Principal Designers provide the following services:
  • Health & Safety Competence and construction expertise
  • F10 Notification
  • Construction phase plans
  • Process management systems and procedures
  • Health and safety file preparation
